I feel like another Nathan Barley rewatch is approaching.

That's the face of a rascal.

Even when I'm not thinking about him, something comes up to remind me of him. Been thinking about this stupid character on and off since comparing the Amiga game to the Mega Drive game earlier in the year.

I swore by this for two reasons: Limited money all the time, and limited space. I only go for what I know I'll enjoy or think will at least be interesting to look at, or has neat extras. Japanese radio drama, Sdatcher? Yeah, it comes with a really cool booklet with art and character profiles!

Yeah that chorus coupled with the shadows of the clouds over the grass is great. Double-y fun if there's a nice breeze coming through the window. The 4D Experience.

My favorite version is still the one where the Moai heads are in a grassy field with the clouds turning into a flock of birds. I'd live there and feel that breeze.

A friend recommended this game to me around a year or two ago and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. The music and atmosphere was perfect. The progression felt great, and the main character has a very memorable design. Excellent exploration platformer. Happy Birthday, Pseudoregalia!

We dropped Pure Moods and Global Coffeehouse design for the concept of Freedom Fries to stick it to the French for not wanting to invade Iraq I guess. A reactive political annoyance that really set the stage for the extreme version of all of the incredibly asinine but dangerous stuff happening today

I was introduced to the term "Funemployment" exactly twice over the last two years. Once as a joke (I think), and another time as a legitimate concept. I wish it were real. I heard recently that it is, but thinking about the requirement for true "Funemployment" can lead into a madness of its own.

It was really funny watching this video just a day or two after I started playing Book of Watermarks. Moya Brennan's "Kiss the Book" which is the game's main theme was already in my regular playlist cycle at this point.

But there was still a time, at least with some studios, where no one really Got It. That was still a moment where parodies happened often from other shows that felt pretty mean spirited towards anime, showing as a cheap, poorly drawn thing. Lots of misunderstanding what makes it all appealing.

I can't tell you how many times every other kid in class was drawing A Goku, or A Vegita, or A Highly Rendered Chromed Out Cadillac, maybe with Goku or Vegita next to it. Yugioh and Digimon also went wild. Toonami primered. Night of the Vampire Robots two years prior. 4kids was swimming in anime.

I wish more games embraced the, "Everything is a Slip 'N Slide," mechanic.
