My painting SEA SKY SUNRISE Watching the sun come up at anchor on a sailboat is one of my favorite things to do. Rising early, I step lightly in the dark and brew the coffee quietly so as not to wake the rest of the boat. It’s an incredibly peaceful moment to sit there silently and just watch.

I love warm summer nights. There's something magical about seeing fireflies appear as the last light fades from the sky. I wanted to capture a bit of that in this painting. I don't paint many night scenes, so this was a fun challenge. I hope you enjoy. NIGHT MEADOW, 16x16”, Acrylic ©2026 Jim Musil
