I used to sit up on Dunwich Heath, surveying bitterns in the reedbeds of Minsmere below It's a beautiful area, and one of the most important in the country for birds and other wildlife This is so sad

I started a new part-time role @nhm-london.bsky.social today providing curatorial cover in the Fossil Echinoderm collection. Job #1 was putting away some specimens which were scanned by a visiting researcher, giving me a chance to see some of these amazing Paleozoic #crinoids (sea lilies)!
