Delivering scones and jam to the staff and new friends at Villa Maria Centre in Ipswich with Shayne Neumann, and delivering a 15pc pay rise for aged care nurses from tomorrow. This is how Labor recognises and rewards their important work and helps with the cost of living.

This is the third consecutive month where annual headline inflation has moderated. We understand people are under pressure which is why we’re rolling out responsible cost of living relief including cutting taxes five times in three ways, cheaper medicines and higher wages.

BREAKING: New numbers show headline inflation has come down and is lower than expected. In the monthly data, headline inflation was 3.8% in the 12 months to June, down from 4% in May.

The next election will be a contest between Labor that's delivering real change with higher wages for workers and more help to get into housing or a Liberal-National-One Nation coalition with a big anti-worker agenda.

The Coalition can't win the next election without joining One Nation and today one of the Liberal Party's front benchers has confirmed that's their plan.

This week Labor released our plan to maximise the upsides and minimise the risks of AI in Australia. Part of that is about legislating standards for data centres, making sure that creatives maintain control of their work, and centralising AI in the work of the Cabinet and the government.
