A professor once told me lecture prep will take as much time as you give it. I usually worked on my lectures almost to the last minute the first time, but the second time teaching a course was much easier.

Worst keynote I ever saw was by a supposed master in the field I was starting out in…but it did allow me to confirm my opinion that his book wasn’t actually all that great.
His ad came up in my feed and I couldn’t turn away. It was bonkers. The attack seemed to be “Mason supported totally reasonable limitations on businesses to improve the livability of the neighbourhood”? I don’t think he’s gotten his money’s worth.
So many kids in rural Nova Scotia where I grew up had the Value books, I think because they came in some kind of mail subscription format? I read them a ton despite the fact that they had mostly American history and weren’t in fact historically accurate at all.
