As interesting as it is to see how the alders align themselves, if we learned anything from the last mayoral election it’s that voters don’t care who their alder endorses. Half the Black caucus endorsed Vallas and he didn’t win a single one of their wards. Nary a precinct, even.

How does this happen? An hour ago, three eastbound #20 buses were bunched together just before the end of the route. 35 minutes later, the same three buses and an additional one were bunched up going WEST. 20 minutes after than, the same four buses are STILL bunched.

Compared to the city as a whole, Logan Square and Lakeview have fairly similar age distributions. But there are more kids and people in their 30s/40s in Logan, while Lakeview is dominated by people in their 20s. In 2020, 34% of Lakeview residents were between 20-29. (24% in LS & 18% citywide)

No amount of enforcement will make that mess of an intersection safe for pedestrians and cyclists. Sharrows, slips lanes, excessively long crosswalks, enormous curb radii, and entirely too much pavement. Luckily, there's a simple fix that'd make it better for everybody, drivers included!
Plain KateI feel like in some intersections you need, not a red light camera, but a *stop line* camera. Like here, where the stop line is way back from the light, but also that's where the pedestrians and bikers cross. SO OFTEN I see someone roll through that space and nearly hit a cyclist
