I stopped at an open house while I was driving around and this was the basement. Casual.

Amazon does all sorts of things with film edits that it doesn't explain but Slater was definitely 16 when they filmed it and Valentina Vargas ("The Girl") was 22. So that's not a rumor but who can say why Amazon removed the scene?
Gamer Fondue FountianDid they cut it because Christian Slater was underage when they filmed it? Or is that just a weird IMDB type rumor
Yeah it's so heavily edited out that if you don't already know it's supposed to happen you can completely miss what's going on. Name of the Rose is truly one of the best examples of "this sex scene is actually necessary to understand wtf is going on".
5.7 trad dadWait a darn minute, I just watched this for the first time, streaming on Amazon, while it took 3-4 sessions (kids, exhaustion) I WAS paying attention, I got confused because it was heavily implied Adso did some fuckin but I couldn't figure out when, if I'd missed it. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON SCREEN?
Bowie also did it, though it's understandable since he was living in West Berlin and the song is about lovers separated by the wall (he also made a French version!). youtu.be/fCTt0VDNJaQ?...
As a german i find this mind boggling. I know that quite a few german bands and artists released English versions of their album to get more sales. Nena's 99 Red Balloons is the first one that comes into my mind. But English speaking artists having a version of their album in non English language?
Dark Sun started as a 2nd Ed. AD&D setting. You may be thinking of Das Schwarze Auge/The Dark (lit "Black") Eye, which is extremely German. Maybe the most German TTRPG.
Ryan NimsDark Sun is the German RPG, right? I’ve never played in that setting!
No this is true. 4E encounters (especially at higher levels) did take a long time to run. Reasonable criticism though again most 4E critics never played the game long enough to hit Paragon and the truly Gnarly Shit.
Jake the QuickMy real issue wasn’t so much the clearly defined class roles in their powers. It’s that every combat encounter took hours to complete. No matter the level. Maybe that was a flaw in how I ran it. It’s great skirmish game, I’d take it over 40k any day.
Fantasy heartbreakers are non-chicken-based nuggie alternatives and therefore doomed when compared to chicken nuggies themselves. I’m going to keep running with this analogy.
Vadim ZaytsevOne of the problems if you started with 5e and want to try PF2e is both the players and DM need to devote time to learn a more crunchy system in the same niche of heroic fantasy - or you could just keep playing 5e for your fantasy fix and spend that time trying systems from other genres.
The same director did Enemy at the Gates which has another highly uncomfortable sex scene. He really knocks them outta the park.
HumfredoDifficult for me to comment as I'm scarred from that scene being one of the first "uncomfortable watching with your parents" moments.
Give this hat to whoever manages the covenant in your Ars Magica campaign (or any AM player).
Colin McCombI admit I haven’t taken a look at PF2E since the very early days but I’ve heard good things. I’m glad more people are playing indie TTRPGs because there are so many good ones out there but D&D remains the chicken nuggies of the hobby.
vulpesabsurdaDo you have thoughts on Pathfinder 2E? On paper, it seems like what I want out of a ttrpg which is to say crunchy on the combat side, lightish on the roleplaying. But everyone I know only wants to play D&D or indie roleplaying focused stuff so I've yet to play it
Unfortunately only I and 8 other people played more than 2 sessions of 4E because a D&D game being mechanically sound is anathema to the spirit of D&D as defined by its player base.
Challenge ProMode Social Media4E had pretty extensive Dark Sun support but they turned it into a big ongoing metaplot thing a lot of people disliked so I’m assuming they’re going to roll it back to the 2E default and then only support it infrequently (this is also what they’re doing for Greyhawk)
WotC’s support of TSR legacy settings (other than FR) has always felt pretty thin, especially when it comes to Dark Sun and Spelljammer, but who knows?
Mehitabel 🏴🍉I want to be cynical about this since I wasn't huge on 5E's Planescape revival but even then maybe this will get more people interested in Dark Sun
[gravely] amazon cut the fuckin
