I think the barricades end up being superfluous then, though. Could just use the concrete blocks alone to the same effect.

I actually think these barricades are being deployed incorrectly. The concrete block close behind would seemingly keep the barricades from tipping back, biting into the pavement, and lifting the vehicle as designed. I suspect a car could just push the barricade + concrete block combination.

During today’s shooting, and currently, Seattle police chief shon Barnes was out of town. He had planned to be out of the city until mid-August.

They require ID but I’ve heard from a person I trust that when a scrapper shows up “with no ID” they just wink wink “hey Todd, let me look you up in the system” and put it under someone else’s ID/account.

Parking lots I expect it, this one caught me by surprise.

Not necessarily much cheaper wire, but much less valuable at the scrapyard.

Yesterday, standing at the historic transit shelter near the Fremont Bridge, discussing the uselessness, danger, and disrespect to pedestrians of the right turn slip lane from Dexter Ave N to Westlake Ave N, we watched a car pull this maneuver: slip lane + illegal U turn to skip the red light. 🚗🧠

There’s a reason both Kaz and Tobi have stayed on the nazi site and not come over here at all.

I dunno how we truly fix this but a few weeks ago someone stripped the wiring out of the handholes and buried conduits for the brand new E Marginal Way bike path from West Seattle to Downtown. So it doesn’t have lighting anymore, joining the many other bike paths with lighting wire stolen.

I don’t know if Tobi was ever actually a good person but these days he’s a Maple MAGA pro-fascist Elon fanboy DHH friend and I don’t imagine all this is truly new, rather than recently safe to put out in the open.

I think Seattle drivers at least, and maybe drivers everywhere, on the whole just don’t look for stop signs at all. They have been conditioned that they don’t matter, are never enforced, and that nobody else stops. If they happen to stop near a stop sign at this point, it was incidental.

Yeah, there was another DM like a year later that directly resulted in me submitting my resignation, effective immediately, a few minutes after receiving it.

I have found responding to DMs from the CEO to be generally unproductive and especially in the case of that one not good for my mental health, so I ignored it.

This alert greatly amused me not long after the above exchange.
