I have a case where opposing lawyers have made a shocking number of filings with fake cases and quotes. This was one of their argument in opposition to sanctions. I was gobsmacked when I read it, and can't believe it's now part of the standard defense.

I genuinely try not to be a cynic. Really! But my immediate reaction to this is that this has all the markings of a sham process, so FIFA can say that Belgium appealed, was heard, and lost. Or that Belgium could have appealed and did not. Tough spot for Belgium to be in! Participate? Or not?
