I'm super busy but here's my weekly reminder that the Authoritarian goal of creating a permanent over-burdened underclass of low-wage workers with no information, education, choice or recourse is moving along, swimmingly.

Neighbor took down their Trump Won flag after the fourth and replaced it with this sickening shit.
Ok some folks said yes so 🧵 (Keeping in mind we spend every single day at the beach and value comfort and essentially make it our living room LOL)
Erin BibaMy mom and I spend about a month down the shore every summer and have spent years perfecting our beach gear. Are people interested in what we bring?
Further context shared by Musk I don’t think this is rooted in reality but maybe I’m out to lunch. I’m Canadian.
"Change your password every (x) weeks" rules inevitably lead to people picking weaker passwords, and slight variations on a basic password over and over.
I think the difference here is that a lot of these left intellectual types were comparatively niche, the Russian state's social media blitz was so effective because it was optimized for social media with professionally edited infographics and short videos
The current iteration of this all goes back to the Russian response to the Revolution of Dignity and you're a rube if you think otherwise
Faine Greenwoodmeanwhile, we genuinely need to figure out how so many supposed leftists on this very website were brain-poisoned into thinking that all American foreign aid is an evil CIA plot, which means it’s probably for the best that millions will die now that it’s gone
Found it… bsky.app/profile/digi...
Alexander Howard🤖 @404media.co reports on why @grok couldn’t stop talking about “white genocide” — a “system prompt” to the X AI: www.404media.co/why-did-grok... @zey.bsky.social shared a smoking prompt. A March 2025 answer to my question about “white genocide” remains live, but answers are all “unavailable”
I guess it wasn’t them that got the pre-prompt that I saw, but regardless here’s a great write up of how this can happen (if this is what happened) www.404media.co/why-did-grok...
This is so much funnier then that time they told grok to reply with ‘Kill the Boer’ stuff when prompted about South Africa. Someone should be able to pull the prompt if it’s manual. @404media.co did you guys do this last time? I can’t remember.
I have discovered a planet. A mongoose-like creature lives there and soars through the plains. It is too far, yet near. Would you like to eat a sandwich there?
for some reason grok is responding in first person from elon musks perspective lmfao
it costs small but nonzero amounts of money to maintain them, and a bunch of them are still activated by DTMF tones over a radio link which means they’re liable to be messed with by random people with VHF radios, leading to headlines like this: www.zdnet.com/article/expe...
And yeah, that's some indirect commentary on the people who suggested the Texas flood victims, many of whom were children, deserved it because their state went for Trump.
More people in California--six million-- voted for Trump than did in Idaho. More Texans--four million-- voted for Kamala Harris than in Vermont and Massachusetts.
There are no red states, no blue states, only purple, from Idaho fuchsia to Vermont violet. And in every state there are children, non-citizens, and prisoners who can't vote. In every state where one candidate won, a bunch of people voted for the other candidate. And so forth.
Fourteen million people are likely going to die as a result of USAID being destroyed. This is not theoretical or a thought experiment - these are human lives that are being thoughtlessly snuffed out. At a bare minimum, I’d like to see others on the left avoid *cheering this atrocity on*.
