I’ve had a long bone of contention&frustration that I cannot get the HPV vax. They keep raising the age to allow it..just under my own. When I’ve talked to my Dr’s who say, you’ve probably been exposed to it already & without getting to into it, I may not have. I’d pay for it out-of-pocket, but no.

I’m 56 yrs old. I found out about Gen X/millennials, losing their MMR immunity from childhood vax, & had a titer because of the rise in measles cases. Last thing I want to do is catch it in my middle age from an unvaxxed child on a bus. Turns out I had lost my immunity, & was boosted.

If you got your measles shot before 1986, you might consider having your titers checked to see if you need to re-up. I did this when measles spiked in Marin County, and discovered I needed a LOT of immunization updates. I wrote about the day I got 14 shots here: buttondown.com/megelison/ar...
