Zombies and the whole zombie apocalypse genre. All I can see is a fantasy about being an exceptionalist survivor who is able, indeed required, to mete out violence to the vast population of people, now literally rendered as sub-human.

This also infuriates me, because it equates something being a social construct with it being not real. All diagnoses are socially constructed, because knowledge is a social construct- but it doesn't mean that there's no underlying reality being described by it, or that people don't need support.

I am now convinced that the BBC cancelled 'I Kissed a Girl' because in the second season, some of them were allowed to openly talk about being non-binary.

The frustrating thing is, I do believe that we need a public service broadcaster whose job is to inform, educate and entertain, and especially to produce the kind of shows that could never happen under commercial circumstances. But the BBC does not do this any more.
