ranged weapons are actually weirdly worse, because they rely a lot on inertia to hurt things, and it's easier to build armor to deflect smaller arrows/slings

this is true, but to *feed* a thousand crow-people you'd need plenty more food storage, along with administrative buildings and other structures (im being annoying as well, i totally understand your point)

good thing they have short lifespans and care less about their young!

well major insulation is totally feasible because, as smaller creatures, you're more vulnerable to winds anyway — you've been working on building underground or enclosed spaces to insulate you regardless

copper does have plenty of surface deposits ! wouldnt be too hard to pull it out of the ground, although working it is gonna be harder due to the difficulty making forges
