CEMEX lost in the 9th Cir and wants Judgment stayed (ie not enforced) until a SC petition is ruled upon. That can take months. Kagan said No. Now, CEMEX is crying to lil 'lito that Kagan is a big meanie. But, any stay needed 4 justices, which if they were willing to grant would've said yes already.

No, this is not going to work. If a stay motion has any merit, its referred to the whole court. Asking another justice, when the justice over that Circuit refuses would be a huge breach of etiquette. If lil 'Lito had any inclination to grant a stay he would have got involved when it first was filed.

Mike Lee comes across as someone who would sell his soul for money, if he hasn't already.

Sadly, it looks like the pedo's admin is arguing certain deaths shouldn't count because they didn't die in a war because there was a ceasefire. And oh, those other soldiers, that was the prior war with Iran, they don't count. These new ones don't count because diaper don ended that war last week.

Before this current admin, I would have bet money the doj would never be anywhere close to this incompetent. This is career destroying levels of incompetence that make me wonder how anyone lacking this much self respect made it this far in life.

That's a fairly sanitized version of what some blow by blow reporting I was following indicated. The doj attorney wasn't even aware of the leading case in the field. Its a wonder the Judge didn't ask the doj if they even graduated law school.

Identifying them as thieves and rapists is how you know they are government agents. At least if they are maga. When you have an adjudicated rapist and con-man as your cult leader, the underlings tend to emulate his lack of morals.

Oh my sweet summer child. You must have never heard of Olestra. A fat substitute from the late 90's Olestra was used in chips and other snacks. The FDA required a warning "may cause abdominal cramping and loose stools." An overblown claim, sure, but "This snack causes diarrhea" is bad for sales.

The concern I have with the $80M case is it has some legal issues the other Carroll case did not. One, the orange pedo defamed her while Pres, so the Westfall Act is at issue; two, the punitives are high. Neither of those should be an issue, but lil'Lito and Uncle Tom might get their feelings hurt.

scotus is not delaying the second appeal (1st case). At least not yet. The adjudicated rapist has 90 days from the final denial from the 2nd Cir., which is around end of July. But, he can ask for a 60 day extension. If Carroll also asks for an extension, it'll be January before its first considered.

The $80M is a separate case. The first filed case, but it went to trial second. It is still within the window to appeal to scotus. Which likely will happen. Realistically, Carroll is looking at January/February for that money (assuming scotus doesn't delay like it did here).

Centuries from now, history students will be like, "This can't be real. No one could possibly be that stupid."

This reminds me of a different unrelated comment about lifeboats on the Titanic. The sad reality is that many "solutions" to problems don't actually solve the problem. They are designed to assuage people's concerns by telling them that action is being taken even if that action is ultimately useless.
