I often think so deeply in the shower that I can't remember if I've actually washed, and have to wash again just in case I haven't. Brains are strange. How can you be so preoccupied that you can't remember if you did something.

It seems that the Winchester already used paste change material instead of thermal paste. The fan was noisy - I suspect a failed bearing - so I've got a replacement on order before I put it back together.

I've also pulled apart my Xbox 360E too. It's amazing how simple it is, and how small the APU die is.

I wonder how many Xbox One Xs will never be opened and eventually corrode away without intervention.

However, a Reddit post I found today showed another One X in a similar state with comments that it's due to the cleaner that was used on the board. www.reddit.com/r/consolerep...

I put this down to there being a damp patch on the wall in the corner of the room that the console lives in, which may have led to moisture ingress.

I stripped the Xbox One X in my lounge down to replace the thermal paste with ThermalGrizzly PhaseSheet last weekend. Was horrified to see that the copper ground plane had started to corrode. I'm very careful with my consoles, and it's never suffered any water ingress.

I did fall foul of it at least once.

JIRA at work had two options in the cancel dialog box, they were "cancel" and "cancel". The left one performed the cancellation, whereas the right one cancelled the cancellation.

I believe that if you place the sticker at the bottom as the soap wears, the bar of soap will rest on it and not stick to the soap dish. I heard this was the reasoning - but I can't recall where from. My grandparents bought Imperial Leather and the sticker always fascinated me as a child.

Eating a lot of Marmite coated peanuts, combined with my BP medication, was enough to raise my potassium levels to the point of concern. I had a call from my pharmacist and a hurried appointment with my GP due to this. TLDR: Both Marmite and peanuts are an excellent source of potassium.

In the 90s a new game was rare and something to value. A majority of my childhood was spent playing coverdisks, though access to these was restricted by a magazine purchase. Seemingly nowadays, it's easy to browse an app store and find hundreds of advert supported games to play immediately.

I think the commoditisation of games and introduction of free to play mechanics may have led to the undermining of the concept of value in the gaming space.

I was contemplating this today as I cooked dinner. My 10 year old prefers to play free mobile games on his tablet, despite having access to a current gen consoles. He has so little engagement with commercial games that I worry for the future of the industry.

I bought a Playstation 5 last year, purely as it seemed to be better supported with releases on physical media. What a sad state of affairs.
