I initially had a chapter in my book documenting some of the personal attacks economists have experienced in response to the evidence we present, but I cut it. However, I think it's revealing how boosters behave. They know the evidence is against them, so they go personal.

Why are you using an alias? I've been involved in stadium (and other) policy debates for nearly 2 decades. It's not about book publicity, it's about spreading knowledge to promote informed decision-making. If you can't understand that as my motive, it says something unflattering about you, not me.

The social benefits of hosting teams has been well-studied by economists. In general, these benefits are not large. But, if you think they are, then you should be advocating for a public vote, not ramming it through the municipal councils. jcbradbury.com/stadium-econ...

Atlanta United pretending to be a big club reminds me of Bjorn Borg's 1990s comeback, complete with the wooden racket (in place of the spoon).

Look folks, if I was financially motivated to write a book on stadium financing, my conclusions would be reversed. Not only would I make big bucks as a consultant, but I'd get free tickets to any sporting event I wanted to attend (good seats too).

1) Book-writing isn't lucrative. Of course, I want you to read my book, but it won't make me rich. I hope to spread informed knowledge based on extensive research of the subject. 2) I am biased by 50 years of economics research that consistently demonstrates sports venues are bad public investments.

Here's the deal: If you are going to suggest a relocation city, you must provide evidence (NOT SPECULATION ) of a viable relocation plan. No more "but wut about ..." laziness.

Hornets owner George Shinn later admitted the move was a mistake. I mean, this is just really bad reporting here. The numbers are not hard to look up, and it' why the NBA immediate put a team back in Charlotte.

Maybe that was Dundon's plan all along, but it doesn't seem like a wise business move. Raleigh as a 1 million less people, most of whom prefer college basketball. It's arena is about the same age as Moda and just got a $300 million renovation for hockey.
