i finished a year-long novel writing class lately where editing was basically treated as adversarial and it was genuinely the hugest bummer. in the last class i snapped and accidentally gave a huge speech about how i would be fucking nowhere without good editors lol

i was working on something else about zero parades (still forthcoming) that had a note that was like 'i don't know what to do with the theme of sexuality here' so when BP reached out i decided to try to close read it by itself. fun exercise! there's a lot happening there!

uh oh gang!!! all i wanna do is work on the novel that i promised to leave alone until at least the end of next week!!!

it's probably fine that everything I'm making right now is about the process of storytelling. that cant ever get recursive

anyway in an attempt to rifill the creative well i will now be doing the thing i said i was going to do this year and Watching Some Movies

on one hand it's extremely nice to feel like i'm doing my best ever work after completely crashing out and believing i'd forgotten how to write this time last year. on the other hand, this does not give me huge confidence in estimating my own skill

immediately closing the gdoc and being like "now what" as if I haven't spent the last several weeks putting 10000 things off that are becoming dangerously delayed like "work" and "the dishes"

well if I have to be awake at 4am I guess its good I'm also seized by the urge to write
