Nani nani can be translated to mean 'what is it?' Well it's a blob-like, biomorphic structure shaped in gentle curves. It is covered in patinated bronze (verdigris copper panels) that have weathered over time but not detrimentally.

When I first moved to Tokyo in the 1990s this was a relatively new building. Passing by the other day, I noted it has hardly changed. The building is known as the Unhex Nani Nani, a 1989 commercial and office building designed in collaboration with the architect Makoto Nozawa.
