Now that many people are buying my 2017 metrical verse translation of the Odyssey in great numbers (thank you, Mr Nolan!), or at least, gazing at it and wondering whether to buy it, I thought I should share some thoughts on the cover design.

Great for wedding invitations, and perhaps a book you might read only once. Pretty, but impractical. For a text you’ll go back to again, and need to find yr place, it’s a ’No‘ fm me (or some other less polite muttering). So I’m thrilled to learn fm Emily I can access her work AND swerve the deckle!🙏

Ooooh! Oooh! Thank you! Am middle-aged creaky beginner at these things, you see, wd love to read on my commute but need to reduce weight of bag; plus joining reading group to go book-by-book, but flicking to find place leads me to curse the deckle. Now I can focus on the content! Thank you again!!
