Kirby cinematics from Return to Dreamland to now have fascinated me with how they’re able to present their narrative with no vocal or character dialogue, and only relying on the score to carry the actions.

In 2017, Rakuten partnered with Blackstorm Labs to form Rakuten Games and the HTML5 web platform RGames. One of the games it hosted was Pac-Run (unrelated to Let's Run! Pac-Man Run! by CoolGames), a 2D auto-runner inspired in part by Pac-Land. Unfortunately, the RGames portal closed in 2019.

With his students at the Tokyo Polytechnic University, Toru Iwatani developed a concept for gaming in the form of a wearable body suit - combining the player, display, and game as one unit. This 2015 video shows the suit playing a functional game of Pac-Man across its displays.
It’s a fleeting feeling knowing that the Walt Disney of Video Games has gotten to have grandkids yet is still fairly active in his work, and also hasn’t really had much greying to his hair.

Never read manga or binged anime in my life, but this has to be a big honor for him. If only he were still alive to relish in this accomplishment…Even as an outsider, I can’t deny the impact the Dragon Ball franchise has had on the mediums of anime, manga, and even global pop culture as a whole.
