A blend of melodrama & heist movie from the mid ‘50s; a most enjoyable JANE EYRE adaptation that leans into the novel’s Gothic sensibilities; an absorbing documentary on female pioneers of electronic music; and a rewatch of a favourite De Palma. ❤️ #FilmSky

VIOLENT SATURDAY (Richard Fleischer, 1955). Enjoyed this engaging film which hovers between heist movie and melodrama without going full tilt on either. Virginia Leith shines in a small role, wiping the floor with pretty much every other actor on screen here. (1/2) #FilmSky
