One of those dream projects I've had for many years is writing my version of one of those special ops of the world a-z type books. I never took it up though because by the time I finished writing it, the book would be out of date already by publication.

One of the things the right absolutely does not want to be reminded of is which administration imposed COVID restrictions on them, or who Dr. Fauci worked for at that time.

Asha Rangappa

I’m trying to reconcile Trump still owning Operation Warp Speed as a victory (which it was) with GOP claiming the vaccine killed millions of people. Isn’t the person to blame, then, Trump, not Fauci??

Do data centers really create that many jobs? I've been told in the past that big data centers have like two people on staff and that's all that is needed unless something goes really wrong and they are reracking equipment.

Philip Bump

As I've said before: What high-paying long-term jobs do they pretend exist here? A data center isn't a place where execs come and do Big Deals. Go to the server room at your workplace; are there lots of rich people in there spending money?

I wish we could put to bed the notion that any of these companies are socially progressive and benevolent as opposed to monied interests. For a corporation this patronage network is actually easy and straight forward for them.

100%. PhDs are desperate to slap a political theory on this administration because the current style of politics causes their life's work to go up in smoke.

E Jones

I reject entirely the assertion that this Administration or Trump himself is operating under a strategy underpinned by Madman Theory Few FP-tasked advisers in this admin are IR-studied, & I don’t think there’s a shred of evidence for a Nixonian-like approach. His “strategy” is merely reactive chaos

I'm about halfway through writing the sequel, which sees Lopez on a recce mission deep behind enemy lines inside Russia. Squaring off with the SSO and Alpha in this one. www.amazon.com/Most-Dangero...

I guess I'm one of the few people who thought this movie was boring as hell and that infantilizing the alien and making it like a pet dog was some low brow Disney shit.

Finally got around to watching "Project Hail Mary" this afternoon... None of you warned me that I would tear up over a lump of rock!!

I'm oddly fascinated by the boomers that are still totally hung up on now defunct COVID restrictions and talk about them in tones you'd think would be reserved for their Vietnam War experiences. It's this emotional thing that's very much in their lives to this day apparently.

America just feels like a grift these days. How are we supposed to maintain a country when we're told the whole of our society is simply a marketplace for you to get rich or die trying? www.404media.co/clapping-is-...

Hilarious seeing all these articles fear mongering that if we delay AI, then some magical bullshit that was never going to happen in the first place, won't happen. "Nothing changes" isn't the threat people think it is.

I loved this book!! Fast-paced and full of twists and turns! As the proud wife of an Army Ranger (retired), I loved all the "inside baseball" references! A wonderful and fresh take on... written from the perspective of someone who does (and did) this for a living. www.amazon.com/Most-Dangero...

There is a whole sub-genre of articles in publications about the many places in which men should not be talking to women (work, the gym, the coffee shop). I saw one recently about older men striking up friendly conversation with age appropriate women in the grocery store and the author was outraged.
