Today’s harvest.

My friend is getting a chocolate lab puppy around xmas. I suggested the name Theobroma for its akc papers, and “Theo” as its nickname. He prefers strong warrior names for his bitches, so she’ll be named Saiorse. His previous pooch was named Xena.

All this talk about the Odyssey, which has been remade—I think Hollywood is sleeping on The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. It would be a great epic movie. “He prayeth best, who loveth best / All things both great and small; / For the dear God who loveth us / He made and loveth all.”

Visited relatives yesterday. Their dog has sarcoma. I now know what that smells like & I can’t get that smell out of my nose.

Going to visit M’s relatives tomorrow. Haven’t see. them since before the beginning of covid. Every time they have invited us, we assert that we need to sit outdoors because I can’t afford to get sick again. Eventually they stopped inviting us. Well, this time we’re going (tomorrow), and I am …

There’s still time to plant some kale. I started the season with 6 plants; 2 died from the freakish cold snaps in April/ May, and 2 out of the 4 remaining plants have been devoured by moths. Still time to plant more & cover them with mesh.

Decided to try max dosing psyllium. Day 2 of the experiment & already experiencing change. Next week I up the dose. I am giving myself 100 days to try this.

So my surgery isn’t happening. Long convoluted story befitting of the Einstein quote,”to do the same thing repeatedly & expecting a different response is insanity.” In the meantime rather than let despair take hold, I am attempting to max-dose psyllium fiber. Batten down the hatches.

Having a challenging day, so only recourse is to zen it out watching my plants photosynthesize. Behold a small tomato in an organza bag and 2 teeny tomatoes waiting to get big enough for a bag of their own.
