One group sees what MAGA has done as a blueprint. All that matters is the policy; it doesn’t matter how we get there. The other sees MAGA as a warning. If you sacrifice your soul along the way, you may get what you want, but at such a great cost that you won’t even recognize yourself in victory.

People keep trying to make this Dem schism about policy, because they think they can win it with catchy slogans. But it’s actually not about policy. It’s about whether or not you look at the GOP under MAGA with disgust or with envy.

When you vote, you are saying that you ultimately trust this person’s judgement to weigh your interest against the interests of the rest of their constituents, as well as the interests of the country. And, truthfully, against their own political interest. That’s the job of an elected official.
