On a more personal note, I woke from a wonderful dream this morning. A dream in which I felt my .308 assault weapon thrum and buck under my hands, as I fired, three times, from a kneeling position, watching through the scope as a Fascist dictator fell dead. What a glorious feeling that was.

Thankfully, StarFleet has a section which handles events and phenomena of, shall we say, a paranormal nature: Division Twelve. They are StarFleet's professional paranormal investigations division... what they need to *become* is StarFleet's paranormal investigations and ELIMINATIONS division.

Frankly, I would say that the folks who are writing the script for "Strange New Worlds" have brought the entity from "Event Horizon" to the Star Trek Universe. Between the episode "Through The Lens Of Time" and now "The Griffin Incident", its' presence is horrifyingly obvious. (cont'd)

I know it's not often that I post about things other than politics, but I feel particularly motivated to post about this one. Did anyone else see this week's episode of "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds"? The parallels between that story and "Event Horizon" are horrifyingly clear and present. (cont)
