I have repeatedly tried to convince normal people there's a major crisis brewing in the Sahel, but no one cares because "it's Africa". I wrote about the April attacks earlier this year, but English language coverage of this basically non-existent. Except for those like @saladinaldronni.bsky.social

I'm just saying, allowing two major regional conflicts to continue because no one wanted to do what was required to stop them (defeat Russia and stop Israel) has led to the collapse of three major global arteries for crude exports, accounting for ~25% of global exports.

Girkin is truly a fascinating (and unfathomably evil) individual. He was smarter than the rest of the psychopaths (low bar) and his ego demands he gets the credit he thinks he deserves. Even if it openly undermines Russian narratives. I genuinely want to hate read his biography one day.

I'm still so angry over our cowardice and appeasement. We could have given Ukraine everything they needed to win this years ago. But we failed and abandoned them instead. And I'll never forgive us for that. It's a stain on our nation, even if most Americans don't care/know.

The flak vests and helmets were fashion accessories for a lot of people in media and it showed that when they actually needed them, a lot of people left Ukraine and never came back.

Same thing with Ukraine. A lot of the major news organizations stopped going there because it was a "real" war where they might actually be in real danger, so the largest war in Europe since WW2 is kinda just a side topic that occasionally gets a short report.

My first real introduction to Russian culture was in 2014-15, and a lot of it was through LiveLeak. I have never considered it particularly impressive.

I was a contractor at CISA until I got DOGE'd, but I was there long enough after he came back into power to see him explicitly get rid of the Election Security section of the agency right off the bat. All because they declared 2020 a secure election.

I mean, even if that were true (it very much is not), it still doesn't change the core issue of "Israel has a sizeable domestic defense industry that can and will be used to supply their aggressive actions and genocide". We should be doing more to stop them, but we have to understand the problem.
