Sadly the great Italian conductor Bruno Campanella has died. A renowned Rossini and Donizetti interpreter, a DVD of a Cenerentola conducted by him in Houston was one of the recordings that made me fall in love with opera, I watched it a million times. Sit tibi terra levis, Maestro.

Remember when the response of the government to these people was to say how much they loved flags too?

This is always true.
Sir AlmavivaPolitical partisans annoy me: someone from Party X makes a good point about some issue with Party Y on which their own party is as bad if not worse, and I'd like to say "Are you aware what party you're in?" without sounding like I'm dismissing the real issue with party Y.
I'm a big supporter of the 20mph tyranny, both as a cyclist and a driver. In urban areas you don't need to go faster than that.
Pascal JacquemainDaily Mail: 20 MPH limits are tyrannical. Et mon cul, c'est du poulet?
The way open racism is being normalised more and more is truly upsetting.
