I think there’s also a general sort of feeling among the hiring part of society that as the internet has democratized knowledge, AI is democratizing capability, and so their standards have gone higher as the educational standards have gotten lower. There’s more of a mismatch.

I honestly don’t think that, in a general sense, the kids are hungry for that learning anymore, or nearly as much as a couple decades ago. I’ve never felt the desire in my industry, but I only made it this far because the labor pool has already shrunk so much lol. Hope it snaps back around soon.

It’ll get better when they start learning again. You might have to wait a couple decades.
