I've been noticing that established comic writers have been taking on multiple franchises at once, and I don't think it's a coincidence. As great as each announcement is, it also feels like an increasingly loud statement on how absurdly expensive things have become for those of us who make comics.

Its also just really fun to see different takes on an established work and the range that has and how different things can feel. Like some are super insightful works dealing with the unsaid implications of the work and some are just ‘X series but ONE single character had gone to therapy first’ haha

Over the past few years between my yuri and fanfic obsessions ive discovered that as much as i love powerful thoughtful resonant works of art, i LOVE pulp silly nonsense hahaha. Its so fucking stupid in the way i love and cant get enough of. And most of them end up super heartfelt anyway. I love it
