yeah! he designed last exile- range murata did the character design work on a few shows back in the early aughts. this ones from blue submarine no.6. his intuition for appeal is off the charts. the girls are good, but man..... the boys........

muratas brain is so huge when it wants to be... i wish he'd draw men more....

the hypocrisy of permission sets my teeth on edge... there are places where its allowed, but only if its aligned with the structures that facilitate the violence in the first place (permission enforced by everything from international banks to individuals who take it upon themselves to enforce it)

which isnt to say i hate subtlety as an artistic choice, i only hate that it seems to be the only choice. depicted delicately or not at all...... sometimes severity is whats required.

its been a source of my constant frustration- that experiences many have had first hand are "too profane" to depict with any kind of honesty or directness. it neuters both audience and artist to only ever cast sidelong glances- we must be able to look directly at it, whats the use of art, otherwise?

its my favourite, too... it left such a deep impression on me, its thumbprint is left on my own work.

this is less a post yearning to be around other cartoonists and more a post about yearning for a world in which meaningful book and magazine printing and publishing could be accomplished in a reasonable manner within north america. imagine if we had a real industry, man.

idk! it remains to be seen. Im open to suggestion but i think regardless, what might end up happening is i will spend a month making however many pages i am able to finish, and on the first you will receive them. I know myself well enough at this point lol

I'm not sure. I'll take feedback on what you guys think- I'm not employed with a monthly magazine, the format doesn't adhere to 35 pages every month anyways. I'd like to do a batch monthly, but some batches will be longer or shorter. I'm loathed to do weekly uploads. the last thing i want is M/W/F

It's going to be difficult to know how best to deliver them, considering each chapter will also vary in how long it takes to make. The establishing shot montage of a school and several of its interiors will take longer than the conversational chapters where its 30 pages of talking heads
