Starting in mid to late October, we have about a 180 degree view of the mountains.

This is right now: 12:45, so mid day. (I’ve been reading on the porch in jeans all morning. Comfortable.) So quiet and peaceful. I will say North of Monterey in California has some beautiful areas as well. Possibly more temperate. For us that is too far from family.

Yeah. I have the beach where we are currently. But I too prefer the woods (and the mountains). Trees are must though. I love it here and right now it has it all. We have lots of beautiful parks to hike in too. … and nearby waterfalls.

And here we have 4 distinct seasons; we really only have 3 (if we’re lucky) in FL. But last winter here, they only had two days of snow, which is also a good thing for this FL girl. Much higher up and that would be difficult for me to adjust too. I think this is a nice “weather” compromise.

It’s gorgeous this morning as well. And this week the highs are in the low to mid 80s. We’re cooler here than in downtown Hendersonville, which is in a valley. But I’d say it’s pretty hot and humid here for about 6 weeks. But where we live in FL, we have a good 4 1/2 months.

It gets hot and humid here but for a much shorter time than in FL. After the rain yesterday evening, the temp dropped by at least ten degrees, and we opened the house for the evening. I also walked in the middle of the day for almost 3 miles. I can’t do that in FL.

I hope we move here one day.
