This site has a very lukewarm opinion on Jon Stewart, and it's not like I'll say he's always got a head screwed on straight, but boy as a weathervane for how this stuff is coming across in general he's giving a pretty good one. Nobody's really buying what Fetterman et al are selling anymore.

While I talk a lot about Buddhism, I've never been able to fit into a community. The local Plum Village lay community is full of beautiful people, but they don't share my interest in investigating Buddhism as a mode of reason. American Zen isn't much better. Tibetan guru yoga worries me.

Nothing's a bigger example of how alienated I feel from political discourse nowadays that I've been wondering why everyone seems so down on this Francesca Hong lady - 'is it because she's a lady and Asian, or what?' - and then I find out the biggest example is that she's cringe about Thanksgiving
