Hank Green has been in my bad books for a while now. I can't say this is a surprise. His research has been sloppy before he started using actual slop. 🙄

A. K. Venrinn

Omg not Hank Green using AI for research and calling to his “bad habit” 💀😭🤡

Huh... no opening banter in the last few episodes of the latest series of Taskmaster. Has Greg finally crushed Alex's attempts to make him laugh? #taskmaster

The anger/disappointment of The Odyssey film is understandable to me.I felt a similar anger/disappointment with the LotR films initially, which have quite a dramatically different agenda to the books.

Well, I must say I was taken by surprise by the Odyssey. And I think I rather loved it, and even got highly emotional for the first time in a Nolan film. And no, it's not like the book, which I read many times and I love. But I wasn't really ready for what this film is about.

I was sad to find that the Science Museum IMAX no longer shows the little time lapse short of the projection team prepping the film. It was one of my favourite features of this particular IMAX.

Hello, story time: my name is Aya, it has always been Aya, an easy enough palindrome. However, due to ridiculous rigidity of language, my Belgian passport says my name is Aja and I hate it.

Often, if I say I didn't like/love something, or if I say something isn't for me, I noticed people interpret it as if I said I hated it. 'Not like' 'not for me' does not mean 'hate.' Also, I feel like we can move on from a love/hate kind of conversation and bring a bit more nuance.

I keep thinking, maybe I'm overreacting about AI. Maybe I should let it go a bit. But then I see that these companies are destroying rare book in peak dystopian Fahrenheit 451 way, and I just want to cry. The bubble may burst, but so much damage is already done.

I'm so bored and annoyed with people telling me 'I used AI I didn't have a choice it's built in to the search.' The laziness of it depresses me. I replied to someone who told me this today. 'You like to hike, would you catch a lift to your destination if a car passed you by in your hike?'

Last night my mystery was Pride. A film about a moment in time that I never knew about and ut was rather wonderful.

Today I discovered that Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction at the Superball a) predates YouTube b) is the reason for YouTube being created. 💀

Britannica is using AI, the OED is offering AI assistance on its website. Wikipedia remains one of the very few reliable sources to resist AI completely and I love it. This is why I have decided to donate to it monthly.

Someone told me I was being dramatic when I said that cinemas have become an unpleasant experience.

My review of Solaris. Needles to say I think this is a brilliant and haunting book. There are some spoilers. #booksky #sci-fi hardcover.app/books/solari...

No one ever tells you that one day your cat would decide to sit on the notebook you're currently writing in. That you would get up to bring your phone to take a picture and she'd decide she's had enough, and you just wasted time, not writing and not having a cute photo. Writing life is hard.

It is astonishing how the book Solaris is so much more visual than the Tarkovsky film adaptation, which seem quite flat and colourless, not in the black and white sense, it's just quite muted. #solaris #BookSky #sci-fi

Last night I said about a certain film, 'oh sounds like fun, I want to watch it.' And was replied with 'oh you're gonna hate it Aya.' I tell you what I hate, I hate people saying things like that to me, as much as I hate the premise that 'I'm gonna love it.'

I came to the conclusion that Flight of the Conchords were a lot better, and funnier, than Nirvana the a Band.

2. Are there any films about women's friendship that has no sexual undertones? Thelma and Louise is the only one that comes to mind. Still it has more men in it than the two aforementioned films have women in.
