I wrote about the Nolan Odyssey for the LRB. I'll summarize some of my main points below, in case you don't feel like reading all that. www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v4...
Can't wait! Also, the recent one-shot of 'Jubilee: Deadly Reunion' by Gene Luen Yang and Michael YG was truly lovely. A wonderful story by some talented people! aiptcomics.com/2026/03/09/x...
For comics fans, the brilliant @denizcamp.bsky.social was just honored w/ Eisner Awards for best new series (Assorted Crisis Events) and best limited series (Absolute Martian Manhunter). His stories are beautiful acts of resistance against fascism, corporate greed, genocide, and ecocide.
Deniz CampThank you everyone. #eisnerawards

I’d like to make it clear for all the people following me what the sheer gravity of the news is. Without this facility we can’t ensure constant communication with spacecraft beyond Earth orbit. If this facility is off-line, the Artemis program cannot send a crew to the Moon.

Assorted Crisis Events is my favorite comic book run of the past couple of years. On the surface, it can be maudlin and grim, but there's an undercurrent of defiance and hope -- often through small acts by seemingly powerless characters -- that make this much more than that. Sometimes, truly moving.
There was a slight variation on this a few years ago: "What technology has accidentally killed the most people" gizmodo.com/what-technol...
Incredible achievement. The Chinese spacecraft Tianwen-2 has arrived in close proximity to the asteroid Kamo'oalewa, a 'quasi-satellite' of Earth. It will collect samples from this asteroid and return with them to Earth next year. Kamo'oalewa was once part of our Moon.

This month is history books my friends & colleagues have written with good covers & you should want to read them. First, Lisa Kirschenbaum, the author of a gazillion really good works on the USSR. Why I'm unforgiving of ppl who occupy a research university position & have only published one book.
