A useful illustration quote depends on more than the time required to make the work. Before pricing, I want to know what is being made, how it will be used, where, for how long, whether the rights are exclusive, when it is due and how many revisions are expected.

🚨 Scam Warning 🚨 A new version of the old "workshop project" scam is doing the rounds. It claims to be from an academic event organiser, praises your portfolio, and asks about your availability and payment terms. Do not reply or share any details. Mark it as spam.

A useful illustration brief should say what is being made, where it will be used, who it is for, when it is needed, what budget is available and which rights are required. Clear briefs save everyone time.

A useful heads-up for artists selling physical work into the EU. Although this infographic is written for Ireland, it explains the new €3 customs charge on low-value purchases from outside the EU. The charge can apply to each different type of item in a parcel, so review your shipping and pricing.
