My parents had the same perspective with me. Apparently a mum at school said she read every book before her child did, but I read so many there was no chance she could get there ahead of me. Also she had waaaay more of an issue with violence and guns in films etc than anything sexual.
Django WexlerI was (according to memory and also my mom) pretty good at self-regulating; I came to most books too soon but discarded some with too much sexy stuff, etc. I think this is true of a lot of kids!
