I just don't want to have to deal with a bunch of awful shit that would run rampant (and I'm assuming used to run rampant) along with whatever fresh new horrors a gutted safety net and health apparatus would bring. I want to pay money to not deal with these things. at all. ever.

So I think my basic philosophy is - 'leave me the fuck alone'. Like I don't want to have to know what the hell a screwworm is or have to find out about a great new parasite in lettuce or whatever, so I'd prefer to just pay taxes to employ smart people to go deal with that shit for me/everyone.
