I think Batman Caped Crusader is a fundamentally bad and uninteresting take on Batman. You can make straighter takes on the the heroes and villains, but if the show is totally devoid of any humanity or interesting characterization, what's the point?

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is, no lie, one of those games that looks like a brand new game running at 60fps in 4K. So happy that franchise is being treated well.

You spend a lot of time with a partner in episode 2, tho who it is varies a bit. Generally speaking, they're pretty smart and you certainly don't have to babysit them. I did have one moment where one sidekick got lost, but wandering down the street fixed it.

One last Doom Eternal take. The Marauder is actually pretty easy to deal with once you learn the super shotgun/balista wombo combo, and by the end of the game, it honestly feels a bit more like a chore to deal with them rather than them being too hard.

Doom Eternal does do two things in the back half that do kinda bug me tho. 1. It commits the unforgivable sin of giving the Slayer an incredible cool sword only to take it away in like two levels. 2. Fucking buff totoms are stupid. Just makes you run around to kick over some dumb little relic.

A lot of triple AAA games seem to be genuinely made with the belief that if the player is left to their devices for too long, there's a real genuine risk they might decapitate themselves with their controller.
