Law professor focusing on constitutional law, especially free speech, the separation of powers, and government secrecy. Friend to all dogs and cats. Champion procrastinator.

Yes, it’s well known for its simplicity!

For the record, as of about two minutes ago on their website:

And immigration is not listed among their long list of issue areas. I bet they will add that to their list any minute now.

Wow. I didn’t know that.

Have you read the Pozen / Hemel piece about university governance? It’s really good. It’s on ssrn - I believe it’s forthcoming in Penn.

Unbelievable.

And maybe they should listen to their own commencement speeches. They always include some variant on the old platitude, "Be part of the solution, not part of the problem." Well, U presidents, helping autocrats capture universities makes you part of the problem.

Yes, fear of irrelevance is a huge factor in many fields, IMO. I think it explains the MAGA turn of at least some lawyers and legal academics.

And might I add, while it’s on my mind, that his bout with Covid perfectly encapsulates Trump’s life. He’s so extraordinarily lucky and so extraordinarily privileged. But he’s too incurious and narcissistic to get it. Instead, he thinks he’s magic.

Weirdly, I was just reading a New Yorker article from a while back that makes clear that they are indeed a thing, and that the anti-Moonie movement played a substantial part in the murder of Japanese PM Abe.

Yes, good point!!

@katiefallow.bsky.social I'm screenshotting this conversation and sending it to Shilpa right now. Hopefully she'll be amused! :)

And that's how *I* found out what sweetbreads are, so I never had to make that mistake myself. 🤣

230

I don't think she'd mind -- it was Shilpa!! :)

That happened to a close friend of mine on her first day as a new associate in 1997! She said that a very kindly partner offered to switch with her when the food arrived.

These people are so, so weird & creepy.

And it goes beyond receiving no benefits from the federal government. We're actively funding Trump/Miller's terror campaigns in our cities & states!
