I think a lot of Americans aren't as engaged with politics as people on bluesky are. Some people might just resonate with the slogan/idea of 'Making America Healthy Again' and not realize RFK is a dangerous quack. That's what slogans are for, to normalize and generalize.

Maybe socialist programs are quite popular, sure. But not all of them, some are controversial and some are just not actually before the public at this point. And socialist politics in America is not a monolith, either. We'll be having debates about things going forward, hopefully in good faith.

I think she's just listening to what AOC is saying. I'm having a hard time with how much people are jumping on AOC over this quote. She's not wrong, people get duped by MAGA and pseudoscience and a good politician should work to counteract that, not just dismiss half the country completely outright.

Majority Report is generally my go to for political commentary. I think they are forward thinking but also can admit when they get something wrong. I also think the climate in America for thought and speech is generally toxic, and we can all work to do better.

I agree that there are terrible people with terrible opinions out there and that we have to fight against their agendas and propagandizing. I am with you 100% on that.
