Fellow Boomer, I was using my buddy’s dad’s prototype HP in high school in ‘72. One of these things (AI) is not like the other thing (calculators).

People got all quiet when I questioned certain #AI metaphors from the beginning. Maybe because I saw early calculators come into class and then become common, then ubiquitous? It’s OK to like Ethan Mollick as a person and not agree with him on all (or many, or any) AI matters.

On the one hand, this is classic "What do you mean 'we'?" from that junior high school joke. On the other hand, it's clear he's tolerated by enough people to swing elections. (You're right, my usage is both deliberate and a tell, as I help Bluesky maintain its median age standards)
