There's no such thing as a "permanent victory" in politics, Todd. Although the belief that there is such a thing seems, unfortunately, not to be exclusive to the right

FactPost

Acting AG Todd Blanche plans to outlaw abortion nationwide: We're working to get solutions so that the Dobbs decision becomes permanent in every single state. We're putting policies in place so that states can't do things like mail abortion drugs. We will have victory, and it will be permanent.

I've just never been able to understand people for ehom.the most annoying thing in the world is "slightly silly over-earnest activists or people who insist on political re-wordings." Like if that's your biggest issue, you officially need to stop getting mad and be happy with your life

Partisan

Our president incited a pogrom using a literal blood libel that they were eating people's pets. And in this moment, the only thing you can think of in the world that brings Anne Frank to mind is annoying teenagers on the internet asking trivial questions about intersectionality.

There's a strong case to be made that Pan Am buying too many 747-100s right out of the gate was actually the decision that ultimately financially did them in 20 years later

Ever since I learned one single mid sized 737 style plane costs $100 million to purchase, every transit cost estimate that I hear sounds way more reasonable. How the hell does a metal tube with some motors attached cost a tenth of a billion dollars???

The suburb where I was a little kid in the late 80s was also "grittier" then, and I'll just be honest, I can't imagine romanticizing the strip mall that had an old Ames store, a perpetually cigarette-smelling bowling alley, and a layer of diesel grime on everything near the street

Never even mind the obvious tech stuff. Like imagine if we still had 1970s levels of pollution, crime, and preventable disease

Wild how even in the midst of Trump 2, some people still make the mistake of not hating the Republicans enough. Like...what's it going to take?

Aubrey Gilleran

And this is true for all sides. If you're hoping a progressive or a moderate loses a general election because you don't want to validate that side of the coalition, you're not taking beating Republicans seriously enough. We just need to win as big a victory as possible.

I dunno, maybe Michigan just has a very different political culture than Virginia, but here if you played up your friendship with unserious wreckers like Katie Halper and literal Green Party member Susan Sarandon you'd get absolutely fried in the primary.

"They create so many jobs" Do they though? Do they really? I live right down the road from a whole road lined with data centers (many of them decades old, these are mostly the of the "internet content parking lot" variety), and they seem to only even have space for 25 cars at most

Aaron Rupar

Hassett: "Data centers are very good for towns bc they create so many jobs & bring people in with high incomes that can buy houses & stuff like that. So if you take a sleepy town that hasn't seen much in the last 30 years & put a data center there, there are gonna be a bunch of happy residents."

You know all those weird pickup truck Oakleys guys who poast constantly about how they can't wait to defend the hell out of their family honor, to the death if need be? Just thinking about that. Article unrelated

Republican Sen. Bernie Moreno's daughter, Emily Moreno, has filed a restraining order against Republican Rep. Max Miller after she accused him of domestic abuse against her and their 2-year-old daughter. Neither Bernie Moreno nor any other Republican has spoken out against Miller's allegations.
