We could print updated paperbacks that would be cheaper (not a perfect solution)

I had a strong conversion experience to a thoroughly demythologized Christianity, it confuses everyone

130

In the mainline we just feel awkward talking about it lol

140

I mean, I am about as non-evangelical as you can get both politically and theologically and I had a fairly textbook born again religious conversion experience (I had a vision, while reading scripture, I can tell you the moment of my conversion)

But nothing, just nothing, beats Cordelia, Aral, and Bothari in SHARDS and especially BARRAYAR. Astonishing relationships.

I am also very fond of Alys Vorpatril. And, side note, I have come to think a Piotr and Xav book would be awfully fun.

(To get back on topic, Aral is certainly better seen through Cordelia)

This is not Cordelia-specific but one of my favorite moments is when Mark, at his most dissociated, thinks of Aral: “you know, he is a killer like us.” Aral is not exactly good and that is fascinating.

I ADORE Cordelia, and the Cordelia/Bothari relationship, in particular, is I think the most interesting in the series. Although the character who I also find more interesting the more I reread is Aral. A complicated man.

Indian, no question

(I’m not good at it)

This feels extremely like what I have to tell myself to (try to) live with my OCD…

I can’t come to Kansas City, but this is absolutely the way I have been dreaming of the church treating gun violence for years (community public health and violence prevention rather than just gun laws) and I am soooo excited to see someone is doing something like it

010

Oh this is soooooo exciting

Lol this is like our tropical cocktail the Ontological Argument (because of Boso’s argument with Anselm about an island greater than which no island exists) (it’s dark rum and passionfruit juice)

Most famous is maybe Mary Stewart but can I also put in plug for the brand-new H.G. Parry? www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/h-g-p...

Aww thanks, but it's actually not out until November! I'm just soliciting pre-orders haha

I know the kind of books you’re thinking of (but also, my theology book has 700+ citations haha)

Personally I am all for a churchwide ban on eulogies at funeral services. (If you want to tell stories about how much you loved the deceased, that's great, HAVE A WAKE)

(This is not at all to disagree with your point!!)
