The worst bit about writing a future dystopian fantasy… with a science background based on a starting point of where we were in summer 2020? That’s seeing The Barren coming to life in satellite images. All we need now are the dragons to wake.

It’s drawing ever closer that my 2 D&D groups, playing on the same timeline in different parts of my homebrew world, are going to meet. They are both starting to head to the same city. And I kind of can’t wait.

Every time I see a video which are; look what we saw from satellite, a structure in this entirely unexplored land. No one has been here, let’s go there. Look what we found. They find a large building. Literal proof that other people have lived and worked in the ‘unexplored’ land. Drives me mad.

It’s a glorious day out there… If being roasted alive and basted in my own sweat was glorious. My office is cool, but it feels like I’m wasting the day sitting in the cool space. Even though it’s with the dogs.

I’m on summer holiday starting today for almost 2 months, and was getting ready to really knuckle down to write. My body, “Here, I think you forgot this cold and sore throat, enjoy” Puppy cuddles, coffee and switching off it is then.

Hi, I write books about stabby selkies and telepathic giant dogs. When my dogs let me. Also those are definitely not the same series. The dogs say seals count as dogs, so I’m allowed them.

The puppy was staring at me With big eyes and a wagging tail. I asked what he wanted. He jumped. I am Now a dogbed, I cannot move. It’s warm and smells of sleep here.

I was idly staring at the clutter on my bookshelves and started counting dragons. I currently have 14 dragons in my office - that aren’t on book covers or pictures. I cannot be alone in this? #fantasy 📚
