Sorry for slow reply, went to sleep! I don’t really have a favourite, and it tends to be about what I’ve got on hand when I’m making. I think cardboard is wildly underrated though. People use foam when cardboard would do just fine.

Omg flashback to working in a comic shop, and people coming in while we were closed, and when informed we’re not open yet, they’d complain that the door was unlocked. Yes we have to also enter the building.

Buuuuut it’s a lot less hassle to use acrylic!

Yeah it’s really liquid in the bottle, so you have to make sure that it’s being poured into enclosed spaces, or it goes everywhere. And eventually it dries. I’m pondering switching to epoxy resin, which I use a lot for other things - there’s some shrinkage on the acrylic that’s less than perfect.

So for this one I layered up ripped corrugated cardboard, then added a bit of hot glue here & there to smooth edges and build some patchy height. Then I sprayed it, and used lots of different diorama mud, washes, basing grit and pebbles glued on with PVA. Then used a pourable acrylic water & tufts.

I just made it up. I have been to a lot of bog though.

I think what I mean by this is: it’s weird to live in the world, isn’t it? What a time to be alive. I’m probably just tired.

Oh hey: exclusive. I often feel guilty because I like the three Maskwitches shown here the best. There’s another one with a hazelnut shell face, and I don’t like him. There’s also this weird one with long hair and a hazelnut kernel face. I don’t like her either. I have no idea why. Animism idk?

They like it because instead of glycerine I’m vaporising CBD oil. It helps with their depression, anxiety and persistent joint pain.
