Likewise! I wasn't regularly collecting supe comics at the time but Spidey's new 'fit piqued my interest. And it tied in with a burgeoning interest in giant robots. I liked how they showcased Spidey's attributes.

Keeping with the Spidey theme, a certain man in black showed up in Transformers no. 3 back in the day... And look, it's even signed by the store owner! 🙄

Mine is probably the analogy of four guys meeting in a pub, writing the Gospels as a fictional prank/contest - then suddenly, Paul's claiming to have actually met him on the road to Damascus. That and the stuff about lunacy and Templars.

At least they've got the name right. When I was a reporter, albeit for a small-town newspaper, I often had to inform people that it was "Spider-Man" not "Spiderman".

Had a handful of Micronauts: a pink Acroyear, Centurion with the glowing brain-mane and a Galactic Defender with an "I Can't Believe It's Not a Lightsaber". Still hope against hope Hasbro does Marvel Legends based on the comics (having already done Crystar and Rom). 🤞

Gorgeousness (gorgeousity?) doesn't really cross my mind when I've met or been in close proximity to celebs as much as how tall they are, or aren't, IRL. Eg Billy Connolly IS a Big Yin; Timothy Spall, Ross Kemp and Tom Cruise are all average height (as I, ahem, imagine myself to be...🤥 ).
