No surprise. Governments that seek to maximise profits for the few, by all means, won't let anything stand on their way - be it nature, peoples' lives and wellbeing, or our future. Will the Albanian demonstrations expand? I'm looking forward to see, when the ''enough is enough'' moment comes.

When politicians and policies fail, i.e. when upscaling of solutions is impossible, outscaling is an excellent alternative - namely replicating what works, instead of awaiting someone else to help. Same might be needed for #agroecology and, more broadly, sustainable agrifood systems.

The Nature Restoration Regulation contains risky exceptions and exemptions. Volker Mauerhofer reminds that NRR should be legally interpreted in the narrow sense, i.e. complementary to the BD and HD. Court will likely have an important role. #ECCB2026

I ask IH members, what are your pleads for policymakers on #agroecology? Camille (Belgium): we need consistemcy, you can't say you want agroecology and not fund it or support it. Vyara (Bulgaria): agroecology is a priority on paper, not in reality. Make it real!

Does #agroecology deliver the benefits we anticipate for #biodiversity and climate? An intensive review finds 123 papers, (quite biased across Europe) indicates positive effects for most farming systems. Quite surprisingly, the positive effect was not dependent on the level of transition.

Very interesting figure for the UK. Also elsewhere in Europe, an increasingly large share of elders are determining the fates of the young. (The elder a person is, the longer the time since school). We might need to focus on how to help elders in updating their knowledge and being more responsible.

Pesticides affect both human & environmental health, yet the Commission neither conducted an Impact Assessment nor asked citizens or scientists what they think about loosening pesticide control. Dimitry Wintermantel summarized key concerns raised by scientists in an open letter here:
