I invite suburban neighbors to take transit with me. They will not have TAP cards. So it pays to have multiple ways to TAP so we can take spontaneous transit trips.

I have seen so many issues with open loop (credit cards) to pay, especially on buses. I use a physical TAP card (low battery protection) or an Apple wallet virtual TAP card (low balance protection). No issues so far.
