Public officials — including the president — shouldn't be allowed to place bets on companies they're funneling taxpayer dollars to. They certainly shouldn't be selling Wall Street paywalled access to their own market-moving posts. Right now, the game is rigged. And you're the mark.

Shouldn't this be illegal? Yes. But it's not. Federal conflict of interest law explicitly carves out the President, and the STOCK Act is essentially a toothless transparency law. And even if he could be prosecuted, Trump controls the agencies that would prosecute him.
