Newts are so cool

I try to approach politics discourse in a ‘horses for courses’ manner but I feel completely comfortable saying people who engage in hollow and dismissive scolding over people’s righteous outrage at genocide while boost sensationalist horse race midterms coverage are lower than dog shit.

“We're at this inflection point where – and I hate to say it – but the oligarchy has taken over. “Policies are being driven by big money, and who's got the money? The wealthiest in the country.”

One of those moments where you feel like maybe, at some point, someone should have written our Constitution down.

Just sitting on the pavement and clapping is now terrorism. Not saying anything, not holding or displaying any signs, just sitting on the pavement & clapping. Andy Burnham can stop this. But he isn't. Reporting by Steven Methven for @novaramedia.com

I host a podcast about the economy of violence and have covered Sudan and the Myanmar government’s historic genocidal treatment of the Rohingya. I think you might just be a tedious contrarian.

Christopher Webb

Just wondering, where all the “say it’s a genocide” folks have been when it comes to Sudan and Myanmar?

Do you see how dumb you start to sound when you start trying to defend this shit

"the argument that Labour receives donations pro-Israel lobbyists ≠ Burnham's cabinet is controlled by Israel as" That "controlled" snuck in there, to give an appearance of antisemitism. Come on. Naughty.

I don't think supporting a cause that is morally righteous grants one license to enagage in lazy, conspiratorial thinking or to traffic in age-old tropes about Jewish people puppeteering the politics of governments much wealthier and more powerful than them.

Ivor Middleton

"setting aside" It's a new cabinet, so there aren't going to be many relevant articles about it yet. Nevertheless many of the same faces appear, and others are well known for FOI taking and donations. So yes, come on.

Setting aside the fact that this article is about Starmer's cabinet which makes no mention of e.g. Miliband, Haigh, Mahmood, Healey, the argument that Labour receives donations pro-Israel lobbyists ≠ Burnham's cabinet is controlled by Israel as this image implies, and you know that. 'Come on'

"indistinguishable from the antisemitic propaganda being distributed by far-right GoyimTV" Come on, Gregk. One of those posters is nonsense and one is fact based. They are not comparable. The Labour government receives significant pro Israel donations. www.declassifieduk.org/israel-lobby...

I have now seen multiple people sharing this image, which as far as I'm concerned is indistinguishable from the antisemitic propaganda being distributed by far-right GoyimTV during the Biden administration, and I find both it and the people sharing it quite unimpressive—depressing, in fact.

The whole premise of the proscription of PA is now coming to light After a number of break ins at Elbit Systems pressure was applied to the Starmer Gov to deal with this problem and silence the offenders The Labour front bench being funded by Israeli money readily complied
